Most Important section to me was:
- Rule Structure
- Basic Visual Layout
- Table layout
I didn’t finish Reading the book as I’m intending to use it as a Dictionary and keep it on my bag or Pocket.
However, The Craft magazine lets you maximize the benefits you get from your spare time by creating useful stuff for your home or office through its different projects based ideas.

Each Project helps you create different craft idea in different fields and for different purposes and each volume got special featured craft idea. For example volume 7 which feature shoe design ideas. It also contains how to create herb garden, gorgeous jewelry based on Mambo…etc.

I can say it is a useful experiment and lets you keep a souvenir of your spare time and extend the feeling of being creative in different fields.

You can also select separate activity to do every free time because of the good arrangement of the magazine and its classified projects.

Most of these books need you to understand the writer concept before starting to understand the PMP concepts itself. Andrew Stellman and Jennifer Greene approach in their Head First PMP book is considered a jump in writing about PMP. The new approach that supports each concept with illustration makes it easy for you to understand the PMP concepts and materials in short sentences and easy to understand concept.

The Head First PMP covers the PMBOK guide principles and certification objectives. But in Fact, it provides you an understanding to the full picture of the PM process and let you go beyond just tough concepts. And I think this is the best advantage you can get from this book.

I would recommend reading this book if you interest in PMP or prepare for the PMP certification exam, it is one of the most interesting books that you can have in this track.

Stephen Partridge, the business development Manager for Acrobat has announced on his Adobe Blog that the International Organization for Standardisation (ISO) voted to approve Adobe’s PDF as an international document format standard. The ISO standard number is ISO32000.

This means that as an ISO standard, Adobe will no longer have sole control over what is already the de facto standard for creating, editing, sharing and commenting on documents between multiple platforms. ‘Adobe will be just one of many implementers of that standard. Adobe expects to participate on the ISO committees determining changes that should be included in a revised standard,’ said James King, a senior principle scientist and PDF architect at Adobe.

Technology and Content Innovators to Drive Consistent Rich Internet Experiences Across Multiple Screens

Press Release: SAN JOSE, Calif. — May 1, 2008 — Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced the Open Screen Project, supported by a group of industry leaders, including ARM, Chunghwa Telecom, Cisco, Intel, LG Electronics Inc., Marvell, Motorola, Nokia, NTT DoCoMo, Qualcomm, Samsung Electronics Co., Sony Ericsson, Toshiba and Verizon Wireless. The project is dedicated to driving rich Internet experiences across televisions, personal computers, mobile devices, and consumer electronics. Also supporting the Open Screen Project are leading content providers, including BBC, MTV Networks, and NBC Universal, who want to reliably deliver rich Web and video experiences live and on-demand across a variety of devices.

The Open Screen Project is working to enable a consistent runtime environment — taking advantage of Adobe® Flash® Player and, in the future, Adobe AIR™ — that will remove barriers for developers and designers as they publish content and applications across desktops and devices, including phones, mobile Internet devices (MIDs), and set top boxes. The Open Screen Project will address potential technology fragmentation by enabling the runtime technology to be updated seamlessly over the air on mobile devices. The consistent runtime environment is intended to provide optimal performance across a variety of operating systems and devices, and ultimately provide the best experience to consumers.

To support this mission, and as part of Adobe’s ongoing commitment to enable Web innovation, Adobe will continue to open access to Adobe Flash technology, accelerating the deployment of content and rich Internet applications (RIAs). This work will include:

- Removing restrictions on use of the SWF and FLV/F4V specifications
- Publishing the device porting layer APIs for Adobe Flash Player
- Publishing the Adobe Flash® Cast™ protocol and the AMF protocol for robust data services
- Removing licensing fees - making next major releases of Adobe Flash Player and Adobe AIR for devices free

“Adobe is spearheading the Open Screen Project with support from industry leaders who share a common vision to provide rich, interactive experiences across computers, devices and consumer electronics,” said Shantanu Narayen, chief executive officer at Adobe. “A consistent, more open platform for developers will drive rapid innovation, vastly improving the user experience.”

Adobe Flash Player is the world’s most pervasive client runtime, delivering unparalleled creative options, highly engaging user experiences, stunning audio/video playback, and universal reach. Content for Adobe Flash Player reaches over 98 percent of Internet-enabled desktops and more than a half billion handsets and mobile devices today. Adobe expects more than one billion handsets and mobile devices to ship with Adobe Flash technology by 2009. Flash technology is used to deliver vector graphics, text, interactivity and application logic, video and sound over the Internet. More than 75 percent of broadcasters who stream video on the Web use Flash technology. Adobe AIR is the next-generation RIA runtime for the desktop, supporting HTML, Ajax, Adobe Flash technology and PDF.

The digital explosion across multiple screens is raising consumers’ expectations for engaging experiences wherever and however they connect with content. Web browsing on mobile devices is becoming commonplace, but delivering a consistent rich Internet experience remains a challenge. To ensure that user expectations are fulfilled, software applications and video must work seamlessly across multiple devices and content must be easily available across those devices.

Support for Rich Web Content and Applications Everywhere
Companies supporting the Open Screen Project share Adobe’s vision that a consistent and more open platform across devices will drive rapid innovation that will ultimately be good for consumers. The participants in the Open Screen Project are leading companies in the mobile, desktop and device ecosystems that will contribute in unique ways to this project.

“Delivering a highly responsive, uncompromised Web and rich media experience to consumer devices and the digital home is a key focus for ARM and our partners,” said Warren East, CEO, ARM. “The Open Screen Project with Adobe enables ARM and our partners to optimize and deploy Flash Player and Adobe AIR across billions of ARM Powered® devices and unlocks the ability for hardware optimizations on future ARM® processors.”

“The market is transitioning from the connected home office to the multimedia enabled home,” said Ned Hooper, senior vice president, Corporate Development, Consumer and Small Business Group at Cisco. “Through our Linksys by Cisco product leadership, we can transform life’s experiences by effortlessly connecting people to their digital world at home, at work and on the move. We share a common vision with Adobe and the Open Screen Project, and expect to work together to help enable the fusion of Web, television and user-generated content delivered anywhere, at any time and to any device.”

“Consumers always want more from their devices,” said Doug Fisher, Intel Vice President and General Manager, System Software Division. “Flash Player already reaches the vast majority of Internet-connected computers, and our deep technical collaboration with Adobe will optimize Flash technology and Adobe AIR across a broad range of devices, including a version of Adobe AIR for the Mobile and Internet Linux project, moblin.org. Intel’s broad and rich hardware and software ecosystem combined with Adobe’s Open Screen Project will help us deliver a full Internet experience, whether it be in your pocket, on your lap, at the office or in your living room.”

“Users clearly want full functionality, the same look and feel, and a similar instantaneous user experience as they have on their PCs,” said Dr. Sehat Sutardja, president and chief executive officer at Marvell. “We are very excited Adobe is making this happen through the Open Screen Project by unifying the software requirements across all platforms.
New Adobe AIR Application Redefines Next-Generation TV Experiences for Viewers and Broadcasters

Press Release:SAN JOSE, Calif. — April 9, 2008 — Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced the immediate availability of Adobe® Media Player 1.0 software. An Adobe AIR™ application, this customizable, cross-platform media player provides exciting new ways for viewers to discover and interact with their favorite content, while offering revenue and brand-building opportunities for content publishers. Major television broadcasters and leading content publishers, including CBS, MTV Networks, Universal Music Group, PBS, CondéNet, and Scripps Networks have worked with Adobe to provide a broad range of television programming and entertaining video content to viewers.

Additionally, Adobe announced Adobe TV, a network in Adobe Media Player with a series of shows that provides expert instruction and original series programming about Adobe products to the worldwide creative community (see separate press release). Adobe Media Player is available for immediate download at http://www.adobe.com/go/mp .

“With Adobe Media Player, we’re bringing viewers and content owners closer together, with an experience that doesn’t constrain them by platform or proprietary software application,” said John Loiacono, senior vice president of Creative Solutions at Adobe. “It’s a merger of TV Guide and DVR for Internet video content. Some great shows, like The Hills from MTV and CSI from CBS, is already available to view and more will be coming soon.”

Broader Reach for Video Consumers
Adobe Media Player can provide high-quality playback of streamed, downloaded or locally-stored video in the Adobe Flash format. For the first time, consumers can download video outside the browser in the Adobe Flash format, which can be viewed in 1080p, 720p or 480i video display resolutions with the most advanced audio quality. Users can also subscribe to television shows and other online video content and then automatically receive new episodes of the shows as they become available. To help viewers discover new content, a broad, searchable catalog of shows from leading media companies and networks is available and it is expected that it will continually expand to include video from additional broadcasters, studios and independent producers. Some of the initial content available on Adobe Media Player includes: CSI: New York, CSI: Miami, Big Brother, Star Trek, Melrose Place, Hawaii Five-O, The Twilight Zone and MacGyver from CBS; clips from The Hills, MTV News and Yo! MTV Raps from MTV Networks; select shows on HGTV, Food Network, DIY Network and Fine Living Network from Scripps Networks; Epicurious.com, Style.com and Wired.com from CondéNet; PBS programming and music videos from Universal Music Group. Additional content from MTV Networks’ brands including MTV, Nickelodeon, COMEDY CENTRAL, VH1, CMT, Logo, Spike, The N, GameTrailers and Atom Films will be made available over the next several months.

“As the Internet has matured and video has become more and more popular, content owners are looking for new ways to connect with their audiences, both online and offline,” said Melissa Webster, vice president, IDC Content and Digital Media Technologies. “Audiences want a great playback experience, including streamed or downloaded high-quality video. At the same time, content owners need to protect and monetize their content via premium services or advertising. This is the opportunity that Adobe is addressing with Adobe Media Player.”

New Revenue Models for Content and Media Publishers
Adobe Media Player provides content owners and media publishers with new ways to distribute, measure and build businesses around video content. Unlike existing media players, Adobe Media Player enables viewers to subscribe to free content, giving them control to watch their favorite shows both online and offline. The player also offers next-generation offline monetization and branding options, including viewer-centric dynamic advertising for targeted marketing campaigns and the ability to customize the look and feel of the player to match the brand or theme of the video content. Adobe Media Player can also provide content publishers with anonymous measurement of content usage data, such as when and how often a video has been viewed, in addition to supporting protection options such as protected streaming, advertising protection and video DRM protection.

Adobe’s Growing Video Ecosystem
Leveraging Adobe’s Emmy® Award winning Flash® architecture, Adobe Media Player is a key part of Adobe’s ecosystem for the creation and delivery of next-generation broadcast entertainment. It complements and leverages other Adobe components, including: Adobe Flash Player; Adobe Flash CS3 Professional; Adobe Flash Media Server 3 software for streaming media applications; Adobe Flash Media Rights Management Server for content protection; Flash Lite™ mobile video playback technology; Adobe’s range of media authoring tools such as Adobe Creative Suite® 3 Production Premium software for video, audio and motion graphics production; and Adobe Media Encoder for compression and live streaming. Adobe Media Player is an Adobe AIR software application, a revolutionary cross-operating system runtime that brings rich Internet applications to the desktop.

Availability
Adobe Media Player is immediately available as a free download for Windows and Macintosh platforms from

Press Release: SAN JOSE, Calif. — April 7, 2008 — Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced the alignment of the company’s mobile and platform operations as it moves toward an integrated technology platform and runtime environment for personal computers (PCs), mobile handsets and consumer devices. In support of this strategy, the Mobile and Devices Business Unit (MDBU) is joining Adobe’s Experience and Technology group, led by Chief Technology Officer Kevin Lynch.

“As the proliferation of digital content continues to accelerate, customers worldwide are looking to Adobe for a platform that enables the creation of rich, engaging experiences across a variety of media and devices,” said Shantanu Narayen, Adobe president and CEO. “Key to delivering a well-integrated technology platform is engineering our desktop and device technologies more closely together. Bringing our mobile and platform businesses together under the leadership of CTO Kevin Lynch better positions us to meet the needs of our increasingly diverse customer base.”

Gary Kovacs, vice president of product management and marketing for Adobe’s MDBU, has been promoted to vice president and general manager of the business unit, reporting to Kevin Lynch, effective May 1. Kovacs takes over for senior vice president (SVP) Al Ramadan, who has decided to leave Adobe effective April 30 after nearly 10 years with Adobe and Macromedia.

Kovacs has been with the company since 2003, initially serving as Macromedia’s vice president of product marketing. Previously he was president of Zi Corporation, a global mobile communications company. Prior to that, he was with IBM for more than nine years in a variety of senior leadership roles across products and sales.

Separately, the company also announced that Rob Tarkoff, SVP of Corporate Development, has been appointed SVP of Adobe’s Business Productivity Business Unit (BPBU) effective May 1. Tarkoff replaces SVP David Mendels, who is leaving the company after a combined total of 16 years with Adobe and Macromedia.

Tarkoff joined Adobe in 2007. He has played a key role in architecting Adobe’s strategic roadmap and defining opportunities for business growth. Prior to Adobe, he held senior management roles with EMC, including SVP of Global Alliances and Outsourcing, SVP and GM of EMC Captiva Software, and EVP and Chief Strategy Officer of Documentum, Inc.

Paul Weiskopf, Adobe vice president of strategy, mergers & acquisitions and investments, succeeds Tarkoff as SVP of Corporate Development. Weiskopf has been with Adobe since 2005 working closely with the management team on long-term investment strategies and playing a key role in the acquisitions of Macromedia, Scene 7 and Virtual Ubiquity. Previously, he was a vice president of strategy and corporate development at Hewlett Packard.

“Adobe’s opportunities are enormous,” said Narayen. “We are performing exceptionally well against our strategy and the fundamental market forces driving our long-term outlook are as strong as ever. I’m thrilled with the strength, caliber and collective vision of the management team we have in place to take the company to the next level.”
